Atif Aslam’s birth date is 12 March 1983. His birthplace is Wazirabad located in Pakistan. Very shortly after his birth, he migrated back to his hometown Lahore. His formal schooling began in that city. In his boyhood years cricket was his biggest enthusiasm. His aim of life at that time was to grow up and become a cricketer. Music was somewhere very down on his priority list. During College time, he was encouraged by his classmates to sing. After that there were many competitions held which brought him on a winning streak. It was during this time that he built up immense faith and confidence in his voice. These competitions boosted his morale. He started recording his songs and paid the recording money from his personal expenses. This was the beginning of a much-acclaimed song called “Aadat”. A popular song titled “Aadat” (which in English language means habit) got recorded when Atif was the lead singer of a college band. That band was named JAL (meaning water) and it had a separate destiny so Atif and other
members split up before launching their debut album. There were many legal controversies that were linked with that particular song, namely “Aadat”. It was then when he made up his mind of singing as a single artist. There were doubts regarding his future in the music industry as he had only one hit song in his success bag. Atif proved all his critics wrong.
His first album made a debut on 17 July, in the year 2004. It was titled as “Jalpari”, which means a mermaid. In early phases only one song called “Aadat” became extremely popular, however, as time passed everyone had made out that Atif had arrived with bang. This album boats of many other chart toppers that were a hit not only in Pakistan but in other neighboring countries as well. Some super hit tracks were Ankhon Sey, Ehsaas, Bheegi Yaadein and Mahi Ve. The main song called “Jalpari” grabbed the maximum attention. Atif has a unique voice. This uniqueness and extraordinary vocal capabilities raised him to the title of favorite poster boy, great singer or in simple words a rockstar.
